fruux

fruux’s aim is redefining the way we use social networks. social networks today are webbased applications with a lot of artificial friends and contacts in the users buddylists. fruux instead integrates into the users system PIM applications (like Addressbook, iCal, Safari) and empowers those already well known applications with social features - without forcing the user to change his habits. fruux helps the user to administrate his real social network (the one that is saved in his addressbook) and automatically keeps him in sync with his friends, family and businesspartners by automatically updating addressbook contacts, when a friend moves to a new city and/or gets a new phonenumber, allowing friends and/or co-workers to share their bookmarks (not like those social bookmarking webapps: the sharing takes place right into the browsers bookmarks folder), connecting the users calendars and a lot more. Besides all this fancy social features, fruux is also a “doc-mac-lite”, by allowing a user with more than one computer (macbook on the go, imac at home, mac pro at work) to automatically keep the data stored on his different systems in sync.

in the current state fruux just syncs addressbooks and no social features have been added yet.
